Science journalist

about me

Dawn Attride is an Irish science journalist who reports on health, climate and the scientific process — particularly if there’s a cultural or ethical quandary at play. At various award-winning newsrooms, she has held several managing and editorial positions and has experience in fact-checking and content management.

Her multimodal stories cover everything from the threat of a uranium mine contaminating Indigenous water sources to the shady realm of U.S. psychiatric prescribing standards for young children.

Before earning a Master's in Science, Health and Environmental Reporting at New York University, she was a biomedical researcher at Trinity College Dublin and McGill University.

Her work has appeared in Science Magazine, Grist, Inverse, STAT, Sentient Media, Retraction Watch, Scienceline and Container Magazine among other publications.
